Zipwhip Supports Outbound MMS

In April, Zipwhip released a feature update that allowed users to receive MMS through our web and desktop apps. It’s been one of my favorite features ever since. Being able to increase the size of the image and/or save it to my computer is an especially useful touch. There’s just something very simple and satisfying about an image appearing out of nowhere as you’re busy working away on your computer. It makes it that much easier to stay connected to the people you care about.
Receiving images is great, but what about sending them? As of now you can send MMS as well! From our desktop app you can either select a file from your computer using the “attach a file” button, by cutting and pasting, or you can simply drag and drop the image into the message compose area . You can then enter contact info and whatever text you’d like before sending the message as you would normally. In using the app myself while it was in beta, I primarily used the drag-and-drop functionality and it worked great.
With the release of this feature your desktop now has all texting functionality of your smartphone. Inbound and outbound SMS, MMS, and group-messaging. You can do it all with Zipwhip. Combined with the international release of our app, this makes for an especially active time for upgrades and roll-outs at Zipwhip. Check back here for the latest happenings. You can also interact with us on facebook and twitter. From everyone at Zipwhip, happy texting!
